Introduction of VMware 2V0-602 Exam!
The purpose of the vSphere 6.5 Foundations credential was to validate foundational understanding of VMware vSphere 6.5 concepts and administration. VMware identified 2V0-602 as the vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam, and community guidance described it as a foundations step before the VCP-DCV exam. The supplied research does not provide a current exam blueprint or a fuller official purpose statement. In practical terms, it was intended to establish baseline knowledge rather than replace product administration experience. Use the official vSphere 6.5 administration guides to understand the platform, then confirm any historical certification requirements through Broadcom’s certification resources because the exam is no longer available for new scheduling.
What is the Duration of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Duration for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam is not confirmed in the supplied official research. The available sources identify the exam as 2V0-602 but do not publish a verified minute, hour, or total time limit. Because this exam was retired, historical booking information may no longer be visible in current systems. Do not rely on an unofficial duration listed by a preparation site. For archival planning, check VMware or Broadcom certification documentation and any preserved registration material, but treat the official retirement notice as the more important current status. Candidates studying related vSphere content should still practise answering efficiently without assuming a particular time allowance.
What are the Number of Questions Asked in VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
The number of questions on 2V0-602 is not stated in the supplied official research. No verified total, item quantity, or current exam blueprint is available from the listed VMware or Broadcom sources. Since the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam was retired, third-party pages may preserve outdated or conflicting figures. Avoid treating those figures as authoritative, and do not infer the count from another vSphere certification. For study purposes, coverage is more useful than trying to predict a total: work through the documented vSphere 6.5 administration subjects and test whether you can explain each concept and perform the related task in a lab.
What is the Passing Score for VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
The passing score for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam is not confirmed by the supplied official research. No verified pass score or scaled-score rule appears in the listed sources, so a percentage or numerical threshold should not be presented as official. This matters especially because 2V0-602 was retired and historical exam policies may no longer be published on the active certification site. Candidates reviewing the exam retrospectively should consult archived VMware certification documentation or Broadcom’s official certification support channels. Preparation should focus on demonstrable understanding of vSphere 6.5 administration rather than aiming at an unsupported score target or relying on memorized answers.
What is the Competency Level required for VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
The competency level is foundational, as indicated by the exam’s official name: vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam. That label suggests entry-level platform knowledge rather than the deeper operational specialization associated with a professional administration certification. The supplied community discussion also places the Foundations exam before the VCP-DCV exam in the historical pathway. It does not, however, publish a detailed proficiency scale or guarantee that every beginner would find the assessment easy. Build competence by learning core vCenter Server, ESXi, virtual-machine, storage, networking, and availability concepts, and reinforce reading with controlled practice in a vSphere 6.5 environment where possible.
What is the Question Format of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Question format for 2V0-602 is not confirmed in the supplied official research. The listed sources identify the exam and provide product documentation, but they do not verify whether its items were multiple-choice, scenario-based, or another format. Unofficial practice material should therefore be treated as study content, not evidence of the real item type. Prepare for understanding rather than pattern matching: compare configuration choices, explain operational consequences, and work through short administration scenarios using the official guides. Never use leaked questions or exam dumps; they are not a reliable or appropriate substitute for learning the product.
How Can You Take VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Online delivery is mentioned in a historical community reply, but the supplied research does not establish a current delivery method, test-center option, scheduling process, or proctor requirement. More importantly, VMware’s retirement notice states that 2V0-602 was retired on August 30, 2019, so candidates should not assume that online or test-center registration remains possible. For historical verification, consult Broadcom’s official certification records rather than a commercial exam page. If your goal is a current VMware-related credential, begin with the active certification catalogue and select an available exam instead of trying to book this retired assessment.
What Language VMware 2V0-602 Exam is Offered?
Language availability for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam is not confirmed in the supplied official research. The listed sources do not verify an original language, translated versions, or language-specific delivery options. Because 2V0-602 was retired, historical language information may also be absent from current registration pages. Candidates using archived material should check whether the wording matches the language and version of the original exam, while avoiding assumptions based on newer VMware assessments. Broadcom’s certification support or archived official exam documentation is the appropriate place to verify any language detail that remains relevant.
What is the Cost of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Cost for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam is not officially confirmed by the supplied sources. A community participant reported a historical online price of 125$, but that is user-provided information rather than an official current fee, and the exam was retired on August 30, 2019. It should not be used for present purchasing or voucher decisions. No current price, payment method, or voucher policy should be inferred from third-party listings. If you are researching an old certification record, retain the community figure only as an unverified historical reference and consult Broadcom for any replacement certification’s official pricing.
What is the Target Audience of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
The audience for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam was people seeking baseline knowledge of the vSphere 6.5 platform, including candidates progressing toward the historical VCP-DCV pathway. The supplied community discussion specifically describes taking a Foundations exam before the VCP 6.5 exam, although that is historical guidance rather than a current requirement. Suitable learners might include administrators, infrastructure technicians, or IT professionals beginning work with virtualized data centers. The exam title does not establish a job-role guarantee. Match your preparation to the actual work you expect to perform: understand management workflows and verify them against the official vSphere 6.5 documentation.
What is the Average Salary of VMware 2V0-602 Certified in the Market?
Salary and compensation are not determined by the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam, and the supplied official research provides no earnings data. A certification may document exposure to a technology, but pay depends on role, location, employer, seniority, broader infrastructure skills, and current market demand. The age and retirement of this exam also make direct salary comparisons particularly unreliable. Use the credential, if it appears in a historical record, as one part of a skills profile rather than a compensation promise. For career planning, compare current job descriptions and evaluate practical abilities in virtualization, networking, storage, automation, and operations.
Who are the Testing Providers of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
The testing provider for 2V0-602 is not identified in the supplied official research. The sources do not verify Pearson VUE, another exam provider, registration ownership, or a current scheduling route. A historical community post discusses online delivery and a fee, but it is not sufficient evidence of provider policy. The exam was retired on August 30, 2019, so a provider page may no longer accept registrations even if an old search result remains indexed. Verify any replacement exam through Broadcom’s official certification portal and use only the provider named there for registration or payment.
What is the Recommended Experience for VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Recommended experience is not specified in the supplied official research for the vSphere 6.5 Foundations exam. The foundational designation indicates that it was aimed at baseline knowledge, but it does not establish a required employment period or a minimum number of hands-on hours. Practical exposure remains valuable because the official guides address real administration tasks, including host and vCenter Server configuration, migration, licensing, and virtual-machine management. If you lack production access, use a controlled lab or demonstrations to connect concepts with workflows. Treat community advice to build a lab as useful preparation guidance, not as an official experience requirement.
What are the Prerequisites of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Prerequisites for the Foundations exam are not formally confirmed in the supplied official research. A community reply says candidates took the Foundations exam before the VCP-DCV exam, but that describes a historical certification sequence and does not prove that a separate prerequisite was required to sit 2V0-602. Do not assume training, employment, or another certification was mandatory without an official policy document. Since the exam is retired, check Broadcom’s archived certification information if you need to document past eligibility. For a current pathway, review the requirements attached to the active replacement certification rather than carrying forward old rules.
What is the Expected Retirement Date of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Retirement status is confirmed: VMware’s retirement notice states that the 2V0-602 vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam was retired on August 30, 2019. It is therefore not an active exam to plan for through ordinary registration. This status is separate from product support: Broadcom states that vSphere ESXi/vCenter 6.5 reached End of General Support on October 15, 2022, and recommends upgrading to vSphere 8.0 or later to maintain full Support and Subscription Services. Anyone listing this exam on a résumé should label it accurately as historical and investigate current Broadcom certification options for present-day validation.
What is the Difficulty Level of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
A practical roadmap begins with the official vSphere 6.5 documentation, then moves from concepts to administration tasks and finally to review. Start with the vCenter Server and Host Management guide, covering client use, host and vCenter configuration, migration, and licensing. Study the Virtual Machine Administration guide for creation, deployment, configuration, templates, clones, OVF/OVA templates, snapshots, and vApps. Add the official release notes so you recognize version-specific changes, updates, patches, and security information. Confirm each historical objective against authoritative material, practise in a lab if possible, and remember that 2V0-602 itself was retired on August 30, 2019.
What is the Roadmap / Track of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Topics and skills measured by the retired exam are not listed as a complete official blueprint in the supplied research. The available vSphere 6.5 guides provide a defensible study scope: vSphere Client use, ESXi and vCenter Server configuration, virtual-machine creation and management, migrations, licensing, templates, clones, OVF/OVA templates, snapshots, and vApps. The release-notes page adds version-specific updates, patches, and security-related information for ESXi and vCenter Server. These documents support preparation, but they should not be presented as a guaranteed exam-domain list. Check Broadcom’s archived objectives if you need the exact historical coverage.
What are the Topics VMware 2V0-602 Exam Covers?
Sample-question guidance is limited because the supplied official sources do not provide an authenticated 2V0-602 sample question or official practice test. Use the vSphere 6.5 administration guides to create your own practice prompts, such as asking which workflow manages a virtual machine, when a template or clone is appropriate, or where host and vCenter configuration is performed. Verify every answer in the documentation or a lab rather than trusting an unexplained answer key. Avoid exam dumps and leaked material: memorizing disputed items does not demonstrate product knowledge and is not a sound preparation method for any replacement certification either.
What are the Sample Questions of VMware 2V0-602 Exam?
Difficulty is not assigned an official rating in the supplied research, so calling the exam easy, hard, or advanced would be speculative. Its Foundations title supports describing the intended scope as introductory, but candidates can still struggle if they have only memorized terminology. A sensible preparation approach is to learn how vCenter Server and ESXi are managed, then connect virtual-machine operations to the official workflows. Review the administration and release documentation, practise explaining why a configuration is used, and use a lab when available. Because the assessment is retired, do not measure difficulty from modern exams or unverified dump sites.

vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam Guide: What Candidates Should Know Before Studying

The vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam was identified by VMware as exam 2V0-602, intended to test foundational understanding of the vSphere 6.5 platform rather than serve as a complete administration qualification. This guide is most useful to candidates comparing historical study material, planning a legacy training path, or checking whether this exam is still schedulable. The key decision comes first: VMware’s retirement notice states that 2V0-602 was retired on August 30, 2019, so candidates should verify the current certification route before buying preparation material or booking any assessment.

Is the vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam still available?

No. VMware’s retirement notice states that the 2V0-602 vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam was retired on August 30, 2019. Treat it as a historical exam reference, not as a currently available certification target. Before studying, confirm whether an employer, course, or internal programme is referring to this exact retired exam or to a newer VMware certification. (Official source: https://blogs.vmware.com/vmware-japan/2019/09/vcp-vcap-retire201909_en.html)

This status changes the preparation decision substantially. A candidate who needs a current credential should not assume that old 2V0-602 material maps to a modern exam. A candidate who has been assigned archived training may still use the material to understand vSphere 6.5 concepts, but should label the work as product-version study rather than current exam preparation.

The retirement notice lists 2V0-602 as the vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam among the exams retired on August 30, 2019. It also lists separate historical exams, including the VCP6.5-DCV exam, so the Foundations assessment should not be confused with the professional-level certification exam or treated as an automatic substitute for it.

Who is this historical exam reference for?

The material is relevant to learners who need foundational familiarity with vSphere 6.5, administrators maintaining an older environment, and candidates reviewing a legacy training plan. It is not a reliable basis for assuming eligibility, scheduling access, current certification value, or a progression to a present-day VMware credential.

The distinction between product learning and certification planning matters. A person working on an old vSphere 6.5 deployment may need to read version-specific administration documentation. A person seeking a current professional certification needs to begin with the current Broadcom certification catalogue and its published requirements instead.

The official community discussion shows that, in 2018, learners were looking for resources for the VCP 6.5 path and discussing a Foundations exam before the VCP-DCV exam. That discussion is historical community guidance, not a current certification policy. Use it to understand why older study plans mention both assessments, not to establish present requirements, fees, or delivery options. (Official source: https://community.broadcom.com/vmware-cloud-foundation/discussion/vcp-65-study-resources)

What should the exam be understood to validate?

The safest description is foundational knowledge of vSphere 6.5 concepts and the way its main management components fit together. The available official evidence identifies the assessment by name and version, but does not provide a current blueprint with measured domains, objective statements, or weighting. Do not present an invented topic list as the official exam scope.

For study purposes, foundation-level understanding means being able to explain the purpose of the platform components and follow common administrative workflows in the version-specific documentation. That includes the relationship between virtual machines, ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, the vSphere Client, clusters, storage, networking, migration, and licensing.

This is a preparation model, not a claim about undocumented exam objectives. The official vSphere 6.5 vCenter Server and Host Management guide covers vSphere Client use, host and vCenter Server configuration, virtual-machine migration, and license management. The official Virtual Machine Administration guide covers creating, deploying, configuring, managing, and upgrading virtual machines, as well as templates, clones, OVF/OVA templates, snapshots, and vApps. Those guides are strong evidence for the product knowledge a learner should organize, while the retired exam notice supplies the exam identity and status. (Official sources: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/vsphere/vsphere/6-5/vcenter-and-host-management-6-5.html; https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/vsphere/vsphere/6-5/vsphere-virtual-machine-administration-guide-6-5.html)

Are official domain weights or blueprint percentages available?

No verified blueprint weights were supplied for 2V0-602. Consequently, this guide does not assign percentages to administration, virtual machines, networking, storage, security, availability, or any other domain. A percentage without its official domain label and source would create false precision.

This also means candidates should not build a revision schedule around an unofficial claim that one topic represents a particular share of the exam. Instead, use the documentation structure to create balanced coverage, then give extra practice time to tasks you cannot perform or explain without notes.

If an archived blueprint is found elsewhere, check its identity carefully before relying on it. The exam code, product version, publication date, and retirement status should all match. Even a genuine historical blueprint should be treated as historical evidence rather than proof that the assessment can still be scheduled.

Which documentation should anchor preparation?

Start with the two official vSphere 6.5 administration guides, then use the release-notes page to check version-specific changes and component notes. The guides provide task-oriented coverage; release notes help prevent the mistake of studying generic vSphere advice as though every detail applies unchanged to 6.5.

Use the vCenter Server and Host Management guide as the control-plane reference. Its stated coverage includes the vSphere Client, host and vCenter Server configuration, virtual-machine migration, and license management. Read by task: identify the object being changed, the prerequisite, the expected result, and the condition that would prevent the operation.

Use the Virtual Machine Administration guide for workload-level operations. Its coverage includes virtual-machine creation, deployment, configuration, management, and upgrading, alongside templates, clones, OVF/OVA templates, snapshots, and vApps. For each feature, write down when it is appropriate, what it changes, and what it does not protect against.

Keep the vSphere 6.5 Release Notes available when a topic involves updates, patches, or security-related components. The official page includes release notes for ESXi 6.5, vCenter Server 6.5, updates, patches, and security-related components. This is particularly useful for separating a documented version behavior from advice written for another release. (Official source: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/vsphere/vsphere/6-5/release-notes.html)

How should the technical topics be organized?

Organize study around administrative decisions rather than isolated feature names. A useful sequence is platform structure, management, virtual machines, resource placement, storage and networking concepts, availability and migration, and operational safeguards. The sequence follows the way an administrator reasons about a workload: identify the objects, configure them, place the workload, operate it, and recover or change it safely.

Begin with the object model. Be able to distinguish an ESXi host from vCenter Server, a virtual machine from its guest operating system, and a cluster from the individual hosts it contains. Explain why centralized management changes the available workflows without assuming that every action requires vCenter Server.

Next, trace a basic management workflow in the documentation: connect through the vSphere Client, locate the relevant inventory object, inspect its configuration, make a controlled change, and verify the result. This develops the habit of checking scope. A host-level setting, cluster-level policy, and virtual-machine setting do not have the same effect.

Then study workload operations. Compare creating a virtual machine with deploying from a template. Compare a clone with a snapshot. Review OVF/OVA templates and vApps as separate mechanisms, not interchangeable labels. For every comparison, state the purpose, the likely use case, and the operational risk of choosing the wrong tool.

Finish the first pass with migration, licensing, and version-specific notes. The goal is not to memorize menu paths. It is to understand which object is affected, what prerequisites are implied, and how an administrator confirms that the intended state has been reached.

What practice is more useful than passive reading?

Practice should require an explanation and a verification step. Reading a feature description can create recognition without understanding; performing or mentally tracing the workflow forces you to identify prerequisites, scope, dependencies, and expected outcomes. Use a lab where available, but do not treat an unverified lab result as proof of official exam content.

For each topic, use a four-part worksheet: purpose, procedure, dependency, and validation. For example, for a virtual-machine change, record why the change is needed, which inventory object receives it, what condition must be satisfied first, and how you would confirm the resulting configuration. This worksheet also exposes gaps that flashcards conceal.

Build comparison tables in your own words. Useful comparisons include template versus clone, snapshot versus backup, host management versus vCenter Server management, and a configuration change versus a migration operation. Avoid copying definitions without adding the decision that separates the two choices.

If you can access a suitable lab, create a small sequence of repeatable exercises: inspect the inventory, configure a host or vCenter-related setting, create or deploy a virtual machine, alter its configuration, review a template or clone workflow, and examine migration and licensing documentation. The exact lab topology will vary, and the exercise is a learning recommendation rather than a published exam requirement.

After each exercise, deliberately break the workflow on paper. Ask what would happen if the target object were wrong, a prerequisite were missing, the source and destination were incompatible, or the intended change were applied at the wrong scope. This is safer and more transferable than seeking leaked questions or trying to memorize answer strings.

What study mistakes should be avoided?

The largest mistake is preparing to sit an exam that is retired. Confirm the exam code and status before paying for training, arranging study time, or relying on a course provider’s page. A page that still uses the 2V0-602 title may be an archive, a legacy course reference, or outdated catalogue content.

Do not confuse the Foundations exam with VCP6.5-DCV. The retirement notice identifies them as separate historical exams. Older community discussions also describe a sequence involving a Foundations exam and a VCP-DCV exam, but that conversation does not establish current prerequisites or a current scheduling route.

Do not use a newer vSphere guide as the sole authority for a 6.5 question. Product concepts may carry forward while interface labels, workflows, defaults, and supported capabilities change. Anchor version-specific claims in the vSphere 6.5 documentation and check the 6.5 release notes when the topic concerns updates, patches, or security components.

Do not infer exam coverage from a list of popular administration features. The supplied official sources do not publish a verified 2V0-602 blueprint in this research snapshot. Study the documented platform broadly, but label your own topic checklist as a preparation tool rather than an official domain outline.

Finally, do not treat dumps, leaked questions, or memorization as a substitute for understanding. They are not evidence of legitimate exam scope, and memorized answers do not teach the configuration decisions or version distinctions needed to work with the product responsibly.

What is a practical study roadmap?

Use a staged roadmap: confirm the target, map the documentation, learn the object model, practise workflows, test explanations, and make the final scheduling decision. Because 2V0-602 was retired, the final stage is not a routine booking step; it is a verification that the assessment is genuinely required and available through an authoritative current channel.

Stage one is administrative verification. Record the exact name and code, compare them with the retirement notice, and ask the sponsoring employer or training provider what outcome is actually required. If the requirement is a current certification, stop using 2V0-602 as the target and research the current route instead.

Stage two is a documentation map. Create headings for management, hosts and vCenter Server, virtual machines, templates and clones, OVF/OVA templates, snapshots and vApps, migration, licensing, and release-specific notes. Attach each heading to the relevant section of the official vSphere 6.5 guides. This prevents a single third-party book from becoming the only source of truth.

Stage three is concept construction. Draw the relationships among hosts, vCenter Server, clusters, datastores, networks, and virtual machines. Explain each relationship aloud or in writing. If you cannot describe the boundary between two objects, return to the management guide before attempting practice questions.

Stage four is workflow practice. Perform or trace tasks in the same order every time: identify scope, check prerequisites, apply the change, and validate the result. Add comparisons and failure conditions to your notes. Review the release notes for version-specific subjects rather than assuming that a general tutorial is 6.5-specific.

Stage five is readiness review. Close the documentation and answer scenario prompts in your own words. Can you select the correct object? Can you explain why a feature is used? Can you identify a prerequisite? Can you distinguish a persistent configuration or workload operation from a temporary state? Any uncertain answer becomes the next lab or reading task.

Stage six is the decision point. If the objective is historical knowledge, continue with controlled product-version study. If the objective is a current credential, verify the current Broadcom certification catalogue and do not schedule or purchase anything based solely on an archived 2V0-602 page.

How should older vSphere 6.5 knowledge be used today?

Use vSphere 6.5 knowledge for maintenance, migration planning, documentation review, and understanding legacy environments; do not assume that it represents a supported current deployment standard. Broadcom’s support article states that vSphere ESXi/vCenter 6.5 reached End of General Support on October 15, 2022, and recommends upgrading to vSphere ESXi/vCenter and vSphere vSAN 8.0 or later versions to maintain the full level of Support and Subscription Services.

The later VMware Cloud Provider communication states that vSphere 6.5 was under technical guidance until November 15, 2023. It explains that, during technical guidance, VMware did not offer new hardware support, server/client/guest OS updates, new security patches, or bug fixes unless otherwise noted. These lifecycle facts are operational context, not exam objectives, but they matter when a learner is deciding whether to invest in legacy product study.

For a real environment, separate three questions: what the 6.5 system does, what the available documentation says, and what version the organization should run now. A strong historical study plan answers the first two without disguising the third. Use the official upgrade and lifecycle material for the current support decision rather than treating an old exam guide as deployment advice. (Official sources: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/326984/end-of-general-support-for-vsphere-65677.html; https://blogs.vmware.com/cloudprovider/2023/05/upgrade-now-vsphere-6-5-and-6-7-are-ending-technical-guidance-in-november.html)

What should a candidate do next?

First, confirm whether the request really names 2V0-602. If it does, show the sponsoring organization the official retirement notice and ask whether the requirement is archival training, historical product knowledge, or a replacement certification. Do not assume that an old sequence involving Foundations and VCP-DCV remains a current policy.

Second, open the vSphere 6.5 vCenter Server and Host Management guide and Virtual Machine Administration guide. Build a checklist from their documented coverage, then mark each item as explain, perform, or verify. Use the Release Notes page whenever a study note makes a version-specific claim.

Third, obtain a lab or a safe simulation environment only if it is appropriate for your circumstances. Practise small, reversible workflows and keep a record of prerequisites and validation steps. If a lab is unavailable, trace the same operations from the guides and produce decision-based notes rather than copying menu sequences.

Finally, check the current Broadcom certification information before making a purchase or scheduling decision. The historical 2V0-602 exam cannot be booked merely because old study guides, community posts, or search results still mention it.

Conclusion

The vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam is now a historical assessment: VMware identified it as 2V0-602 and reported its retirement on August 30, 2019. The productive use of its material is therefore version-specific learning, not assumed exam scheduling. Build understanding from the official vSphere 6.5 management guides and release notes, practise administrative decisions and verification, and confirm the current certification requirement before committing time or money.

Passed last night with a score of 425. I did but the premium file and all questions are from the premium dumps. The only difference is that the patteren of muliple choice is changed. You should pass the exam if you have the premium file

took the exam a few days ago. I had used the PREMIUM FILE, not the free, out of the 70 questions in total there were 6 new questions that are not there but I passed with high score. File is on point and currently you should get a pass if you buy it. definitely worth buying. Thank you and Good luck

Tammy, you failed twice b'cos you were just using the dumps. You really need to study by actually practicing the lab exercises to really understand how ESXi 6.5 works and then go through the dumps. What you may not know is that some of the answers in the dumps are totally wrong. Research and verify each of the dump question before you accept the answer as the correct one.
